Outdoor Learning

20th Jun 2018

What a gorgeous day in The nursery. Room 2 children loved harvesting the seeds that we planted and nutured through May and June. They were amazed at how a little seed could grow into a vegetable. The children were able to wash the vegetables, use their senses to explore the colour, smell, texture and taste of the vegetables. The children also developed their fine motor skills as the chopped the vegetables. The remains were put into our compost bin to add nutrients to our future plants. The children even washed up after themselves! What a super first hand learning experience 🌿🥒🌏

Some Room 1 children tended our allotment and have enjoyed chopping salads in the mud kitchen. They want to prepare dinner tonight so Parents look forward to some vegetable treats in their pigeon holes today 😊#independence ☀️#greenfingers 🥕#nurserylearningoutdoors
